Installation @ Hallwalls
The design for these lamp bases began as a component of our installation at Hallwalls Contemporary Arts Center and developed to become an idea for a new product design. Along the way, as we explored issues of design, production and function, we developed a production process blending CNC cutting and hand turning, allowing for a highly accurate and consistent shaping. We developed custom keyhole fittings that allow the lamp bases to install easily into a standard octagon box, making them as easy to install as a retrofit as in a new construction.
