Standard Dimension Wood Blanks
Standard Dimension Wood Blanks
We work in a wide range of scale, and hardwoods grown and processed locally in Pennsylvania is our most used raw material by volume. This range of scale allows us to use most all of our material with very little waste. The scraps and cutoffs from the larger scale work are processed down into small standard size hardwood blanks, which we use to mill into the many small components and pieces that we fabricate for many of our small products. These images show a shelf of standard blanks we use for all of the circuit block components. Periodically, we spend a day and sort all of the cutoffs in the studio into groups to be milled down into these small standard blank dimensions, which in the end, leaves very little waste material. Even though we work with a large volume of hardwood, it remains impossible for us to feel ok wasting any of it!
