To make this video, I started with a solved rubik’s cube and proceeded through a scripted number of cube manipulations, then proceeded through those same cube manipulations in the reverse order. The result was a video of the cube going from a solved state and returning to a solved state through the same sequence of moves. I then duplicated a version of the video and reversed the direction, so the end was now the beginning. Both videos were then placed side by side and a loop was made where now each video played forward, then backward, then forward, and on…, so that what is happening on one side is forward and what is happening on the other side is the same move in the reverse side of the sequence, reversed, cancelling negatives.
